
Membership Policies
Any individual social worker or professional can become ‘member’ of the Society subject to recommendation and approval of the EC.
Any student / apprentice / interns / young members can become ‘associate member’ of the Society subject to recommendation and approval of the EC.
The Member / Associate Member shall pay registration fee and monthly / yearly subscription fees or other fees as set from time to time by the Governing body.
The Governing Body of the Society may also elect any person who has assisted or rendered creative service to the Society as an Associate Member. Such Associate Member(s) shall have the same privilege as a member but shall not be eligible to vote at the general meetings of the Society.
Membership or Associated membership shall be ceased or suspended, if:
- 1Failed to meet Society objective
- 2Act against Society objective
- 3Engaged criminal activities or convicted at any local or internal court
- 4If bankrupted
- 5Non-payment of fees more than 12 months
- 6If he is found to be unsound mind by a competent Court
- 7The conduct of the general member on associate member which has been considered to the detrimental to the interest of the Society by the executive committee such general member or associate member may be expelled by the Society by the resolution passed by 2/3rd of the members of the Society present in any general meeting of the Society to be held within two months from the date of receiving information of such detrimental conduct from the executive committee provided that a general member/associate member shall before such expulsion, be given chance of being heard both by the Executive committee (During their proceedings against the general member / associate member) and by the general body but the decision of the general body shall be the final.
Any general member, Associate member who ceases to be a general member/associate member shall nevertheless remain liable for and shall pay to the Society all sums which at time of the cessation of such membership may be due from the person and the Society shall take such legal action as the Executive committee deem fit.
